- Card details and cleaners' identity and bank details are held by Stripe.

Stripe also uses some information for its own purposes, such as identity checks and preventing fraud, underStripe's privacy policy. Apple and Google handle App Store and Google Play purchases under their own privacy policies.
Where a service stores information outside the UK, we make sure it is protected to UK standards. Clerk, Stripe, Expo, Resend and Vercel are certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For Convex, RevenueCat and Apple, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses with the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum.
What other people see
- Before a household books, cleaners see only the postcode district and the size of the home. The cleaner they book then sees the full address, access notes and alarm code.
- A household's review of a cleaner is public and shows their first name only.
- A cleaner's rating of a household is seen only by other cleaners.
- A cleaner's public profile, with their rating and reviews, is seen by households.
- When you report or block someone, they are not told.
When a cleaner adds their own clients to Clean Spaces, the cleaner decides what to keep about them and is responsible for it. We store it for the cleaner.
Messages sent from your phone
When a cleaner sends a text, WhatsApp message or email to a client from Clean Spaces, it is sent by the cleaner's phone, through its own Messages, WhatsApp or Mail app. Those services handle the message under their own privacy policies. We keep a note that the message was sent.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. Notifications in Clean Spaces are deleted after 30 days.
When a cleaner deletes their account
Your account, profile, documents, clients, cleans, invoices, messages and settings are deleted straight away. We keep a record of each card payment and payout with only its amount and reference, as the law requires. Ratings you gave households stay if they are more than 48 hours old. We also keep any safety reports involving you, and a short record that the account was deleted, with the reason if you gave one. Stripe keeps its records of your payments, payouts and identity check, as the law requires.
When a household deletes their account
Your name, email address and photo, your homes with their addresses and access details, your saved card, your posted cleans and offers, your notifications, your blocked list, cleaners' ratings of you and your sign-in are deleted straight away, including the card details Stripe holds for you. If you use the same email address for a cleaner account, that sign-in stays for the cleaner account.
We keep records of payments, as the law requires, and any safety reports involving you. Reviews you left stay up, signed "A client". Cleaners keep their own records of the cleans they did for you and their messages with you, as part of running their business. You cannot delete your account while you owe for a clean.
Safety reports are kept for as long as we need them to keep people safe or to meet our legal duties.

If you choose light or dark mode with the button at the top of the page, your browser remembers the choice on your device. It is never sent to us. Our host, Vercel, keeps short-term logs of requests, including IP addresses, to run and protect the site.
