Terms of service

Updated 2 October 2026

In plain English

  • Clean Spaces connects households with independent cleaners. When you book a clean, your agreement for the cleaning is with the cleaner.
  • Cleaners are independent businesses. They choose their jobs, set their own prices and are responsible for their work, tax and insurance.
  • You must be 18 or over to use Clean Spaces.
  • When you pay by card in the app, Webventures.ai Ltd takes the payment and pays the cleaner their share.
  • Be honest and respectful. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk.

About these terms

These terms cover the Clean Spaces app for cleaners, the Clean Spaces for Clients app for households, and this website. Together we call them Clean Spaces. By creating an account or using Clean Spaces, you agree to these terms.

Clean Spaces is run by Webventures.ai Ltd, trading as Clean Spaces. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15847838. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Our VAT number is GB489596309. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Webventures.ai Ltd.

Our privacy policy explains how we use your information, and ourcancellation and refunds page explains how cancelling and refunds work. Both form part of these terms.

Who can use Clean Spaces

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • You must give us true and up-to-date information, and keep it up to date.
  • Each account is for one person. Keep your sign-in email secure and do not let anyone else use your account.
  • Clean Spaces is for homes and cleaning businesses in the United Kingdom.

What Clean Spaces does

Clean Spaces is a platform. It lets households post the cleans they need, lets independent cleaners send offers, and gives both sides tools to arrange, pay for and keep track of cleans. Cleaners also use it to run their own cleaning business.

When a household books a cleaner, the agreement for the cleaning is between the household and the cleaner. We are not a party to it. We do not employ cleaners, assign work or carry out cleaning, and we do not supervise how a clean is done.

If you are a cleaner

  • You are an independent business. You choose which jobs to offer on, set your own prices and decide how you work. Nothing in these terms makes you our employee, worker or agent.
  • You are responsible for your work, for your own tax and National Insurance, for any insurance you need, and for having the right to work in the UK.
  • Your offers must be at least the minimum rate, which today is £17.50 an hour in London or £15 an hour elsewhere, with a minimum booking of 2 hours.
  • To take card payments you must set up payouts with Stripe, our card payment provider, and pass Stripe's identity check. Stripe's Connected Account Agreement applies to your payouts.
  • Information you put on your public profile, including any DBS certificate or insurance you add, must be true and in date. Tell us if a document expires or is withdrawn.
  • When you add your own clients to the app, you are responsible for having their permission to keep their details and contact them.

If you book cleans

  • Describe your home and the clean you need accurately, including the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, pets and anything the cleaner should know.
  • Make sure the cleaner can get in at the agreed time, and that your home is safe to work in.
  • Pay for the cleans you book, and any late cancellation fee, as set out on our pricing page.

Prices and fees

Our current prices and fees are on our pricing page. All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include any VAT due. In summary:

  • The price of a clean is the cleaner's offer, shown in full before you book.
  • Households pay a service fee of 10% of the cleaning price, at least £2, on cleans booked from a posted job. There is no service fee on regular cleans with a preferred cleaner, or with a cleaner who invited the household.
  • We keep a payment fee of 3% from each card payment to a cleaner, for a clean or a late cancellation fee, to cover card and payout costs. There is no fee on tips.
  • Clean Spaces Pro costs £6.99 a month, billed by Apple or Google Play.

If we change a price or fee, we will tell you in the app before the change applies to you.

Card payments and payouts

When a household pays by card in the app, Webventures.ai Ltd takes the payment and appears as the seller on the card statement. We collect the payment for the cleaner and pay the cleaner their share, less the payment fee. Card payments and payouts are processed by Stripe.

  • A household's card is saved and checked when it is added. Nothing is taken when a clean is booked. The card is charged after the clean, when the cleaner marks it done, or 24 hours after the clean was due to finish.
  • If a charge fails, we will try again and ask the household to pay in the app.
  • Cleaners are paid to their bank account every Friday.
  • Households can tip a cleaner after a paid clean, from £1 to £50. The whole tip goes to the cleaner.

If a household pays a cleaner another way, such as cash or bank transfer, that payment is between them and we are not responsible for it.

Cancelling, moving and refunds

Households can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the clean. Inside 24 hours, cancelling costs 50% of the cleaning price, which goes to the cleaner. A clean can be moved up to 3 times per booking for free when the cleaner agrees. If a cleaner cancels, the household pays nothing.

If a clean was not done or something went wrong, we can refund all or part of a card payment. The full rules are on our cancellation and refunds page.

Cleaners should cancel only when they have to, and as early as possible.

Reviews

  • After a clean booked in the app, the household and the cleaner can each leave one review, within 14 days. Reviews cannot be edited.
  • Reviews must be honest and about the clean. Do not post anything false, abusive, discriminatory or private, such as someone's address or phone number.
  • A household's review of a cleaner is public and shows their first name only. A cleaner's rating of a household is seen only by other cleaners.
  • We can hide a review that breaks these rules.

How everyone should behave

When you use Clean Spaces, you must not:

  • harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone
  • do anything unsafe or illegal, in someone's home or through the app
  • pretend to be someone else, or create an account for someone without their permission
  • post false information, including false reviews, badges or documents
  • try to get around the app's safety features, such as blocking
  • misuse other people's information, including addresses and access details
  • interfere with the apps or this website, or try to access them in ways we have not allowed

Reporting, blocking and suspension

You can report or block another user in the app. Blocking someone cancels any upcoming cleans between you, with no fee to either side, and hides you from each other. In an emergency, call 999. You can report a safety concern in the app or by email to feedback@cleanspaces.app.

We can suspend, limit or close an account if we reasonably believe its owner has broken these terms, put someone at risk, or acted dishonestly. Where it is safe to, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

Messages sent from the app

Clean Spaces lets cleaners send texts, WhatsApp messages and emails to their clients. These are sent from the cleaner's own phone, through its messaging apps. The cleaner is responsible for what they send and for having their client's permission to contact them.

Clean Spaces Pro

  • Clean Spaces Pro is a monthly subscription for cleaners, costing £6.99 a month. On iPhone it is sold and billed by Apple through your Apple ID, and on Android by Google Play. Their terms apply to the purchase.
  • It renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your Apple or Google Play settings. You keep Pro until the end of the month you have paid for.
  • Refunds for Clean Spaces Pro are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules. Seehow to request a refund from Apple andhow to request a refund on Google Play.
  • We may change what Pro includes. If we take away something you rely on, we will tell you in advance so you can cancel.

Our responsibility to you

We provide Clean Spaces with reasonable care and skill. We work to keep the apps running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or free of faults.

Because the cleaning is agreed between the household and the cleaner, we are not responsible for the quality of a clean, for damage or loss in a home, or for what a household or cleaner does. If something goes wrong, tell us and we will help where we can, including with refunds as set out above.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.

Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit or lost opportunities. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the problem.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in either app. See help and contact for the steps. Deleting an account does not cancel Clean Spaces Pro; cancel that in your Apple or Google Play settings. Ourprivacy policy explains what we delete and what we have to keep.

Any cleans already booked, and any money owed for cleans already done, are still due after an account is closed.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
